Job description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. This role is vital in providing support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including autism and other related conditions. The DSP will work closely with individual in a group setting in their homes, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Duties
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
Monitor and record vital signs as necessary, ensuring the health and well-being of clients.
Monitor and/or administer medications according to prescribed schedules while maintaining accurate records.
Provide support in social activities, encouraging community involvement and personal growth.
Assist the individuals to maintain a safe and clean environment within the home setting, by teaching, reminding, prompting, and encouraging
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care for individuals.
Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when required.
Requirements
Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Core A and Core B Medication training is preferred but not required
Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with individuals and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion and patience.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: $16.24 - $16.77 per hour
Expected hours: 20-40 hours per week (overtime is often available)
