  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Digital Workplace Technology to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital workplace strategy. This role will focus on enhancing productivity, collaboration, and engagement while ensuring the firm’s ability to deliver superior legal services through innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with expertise in technology integration, change management, and digital workplace adoption, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams and stakeholders.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain a digital workplace strategy aligned with the firm’s business goals and objectives. Define goals, objectives, and metrics consistent with the firm’s strategic plan. Partner with innovation teams to optimize operations and outcomes within both groups.
    • Technology Integration: Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of digital tools and platforms, including document management solutions, collaboration platforms, Microsoft 365, hybrid work solutions, AI technologies, and other enterprise applications.
    • Digital Workplace Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to ensure the successful adoption of digital workplace solutions across the firm, tailored to the specific needs of legal and operational practice groups. Manage best practices for user-facing support and education.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate regularly with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to drive digital workplace initiatives.
    • User Experience: Enhance user experience by ensuring digital tools are intuitive, accessible, and meet the needs of all employees.
    • Adoption: Establish and oversee efforts to increase the adoption of digital workplace technologies, utilizing coaching, training, and online delivery methods.
    • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of digital workplace strategies.
    • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously innovate and improve the digital workplace experience.
    • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of digital workplace professionals. Oversee business professionals on centralized and distributed projects.
    • Budgeting and Financial Planning: Provide budget figures for system support, training, and staff development. Participate in financial forecasting and create technology roadmaps for long-term planning.
    • Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement departmental policies to ensure compliance with all firm policies and regulations. Coordinate training programs to ensure the team is well-prepared for firm needs.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a management role.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, communications, or a related field.
    • Proven experience with digital workplace technology deployment, adoption, and change management in a law firm environment.
    • Extensive experience in managing vendor relationships, fiscal responsibilities, and complex projects.
    • Strong project management skills, with experience in large, multi-office environments.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications.
    • Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relevant advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA).
    • Prior law firm experience.
    • Supervisory experience.

    • Strong strategic thinking regarding technologies used to provide legal services.

    • Ability to meet deadlines and manage complex initiatives.
    • High-energy, creative self-starter with a strong customer service orientation.

     

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • Competitive annual salary range of $300,000 - $375,000, dependent on experience and skill set.
