CSuite Financial partners have been retained by our client, a growing managed print and IT services company, to place a Director of Accounting to join their team.
The Director of Accounting will operate onsite daily at the company headquarters in Asheville, NC.
About the Client
Our client is a rapidly expanding, innovative business technology company specializing in managed print and managed IT services for small to medium-sized businesses throughout Western North Carolina. They are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Accounting to oversee their financial operations and drive the financial health of the company.
Position Summary
The Director of Accounting is responsible for leading and growing the accounting and finance team and managing the company’s accounting processes and procedures. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, oversees budgeting, and provides critical financial insights to support the company’s growth strategy. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, a trusted advisor to executives, and a strategic thinker who can anticipate financial challenges and opportunities.
This role will report directly to the CEO
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controls & Reporting
• Ensure the reliability and integrity of financial reporting.
• Manage the consolidated financial reporting process, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee all US GAAP reporting requirements, respond to auditing activities, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Financial Analysis.
• Identify and track key financial metrics to drive business growth.
• Hold teams accountable for financial performance and ensure budgets align with strategic objectives.
• Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve decision-making related to make vs. buy vs. rent, CAPEX, and cash management.
Leadership & Team Development
• Establish, hire, and oversee the company’s accounting and finance team.
• Promote a culture of accountability and high performance within the department.
• Ensure that all members of the finance team are aligned with the company's business objectives.
Strategic Financial Planning
• Assist the CEO in developing and executing the company’s strategic financial direction.
• Provide valuable financial insights that drive better decision-making.
• Develop and recommend an annual operating plan and financial budget that supports the long-term strategy of the business.
• Anticipate financial risks and opportunities, proactively addressing potential issues.
Copier Industry Financial Expertise
• Apply financial expertise within the copier and managed print industry.
• Oversee financial operations related to leasing, contracts, reporting, overages, and meter reading.
• Leverage experience using E-Automate to optimize financial processes.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 5-10+ years of experience in a senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, cash reconciliations, General ledger, month-end close process, audit management, & inventory accounting
• Experience in the copier and managed print industry preferred.
• Proficiency accounting & finance systems platforms. (experience with E-Automate will be given preference)
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
