    Director Of Nursing with Medicare Experience

    Job Description

    · Coordinates clinical departments and branches; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations (Conditions of Participation)

    · Understand current Home Health Condition of Participation and develop and implement clinical changes on agency delivery of care model

    · Able to perform OASIS assessments and regular home visits as needed

    · Provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patients’ needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel

    · Direct and evaluate efficiency and professional practice of nursing, intake and HHA staff

    · Monitors QAPI Program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed

    · Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through educations, coaching, and other assistance as necessary

    · Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to Administrator both verbally and through written reports

    · Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board

    · Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease and ensure adequate orientation and staff development needs are met through collaboration with the Education Department

    · Work with and ensure support of the Sales and Marketing Staff to progress the company in the community, build census and grow the company in line with our Mission Statement

    · Review and analyze department activities and provide data to aid in planning risk management and improve services

    · Work with HR to recruit/hire and orientate qualified personnel and resolve employee issues

    · Assume leadership of case management team

    · Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability

    · Maintain awareness of advances in nursing, government regulations including the development, revision and implementation department policies and procedures as required

    · Monitor the use of diagnostic services and marketing efforts to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment and services

    · Coordinate with other department directors in developing, enhancing and maintaining computerized record management systems to store/ process data such as personnel activities, information and produce reports as appropriate

    · Implement departmental objectives and evaluative or operational criteria

    · Prepare staff activity reports to inform management of issues

    Qualifications

    · Graduate of accredited nursing school

    · Valid RN license for the State of Florida

    · 5+ years of progressive nursing staff management

    · 2+ years nursing experience in the home health industry

    · Knowledge and experience of relevant software

    · Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
