Our award-winning client is seeking a Director Supply Chain to join their team.The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain process, from procurement to distribution. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain principles, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Procurement and Supplier Management: Oversee sourcing, negotiation, and contract management with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier selection, route optimization, and transportation mode selection.
- Optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts and excess inventory, and implement effective inventory control systems.
- Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as negotiating better deals with suppliers, optimizing transportation routes, and reducing inventory holding costs.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, natural disasters, and geopolitical events.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in driving supply chain optimization and cost reduction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
- Experience in the defense industry is a plus.
