JPCL Engineering, LLC is a multi-disciplinary engineering, inspection, and testing services firm, focused on providing special inspections and material testing, traffic engineering and transportation planning and bridge inspections and design services to public agencies and private entities throughout New York and New Jersey regions.
Position location(s): New York or New Jersey
General Responsibilities:
As part of our growing Traffic Engineering department, the director will be responsible for business development, RFPs review and proposal submission, project management, staff training, contracts management and clients’ relations.
Experience with Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) operations and projects is desirable.
Overall knowledge of traffic modeling, signal design, traffic control plans and studies are a must.
Interface directly with clients for project implementation and representation at meetings.
Lead and manage traffic engineers.
Must be able to grow the department and obtain contracts from NJDOT, NJ Transit, PANYNJ, NYC DOT and NYS DOT and other Transportation Planning Authorities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical or systems engineering
Minimum 8 - 10+ years of progressive relevant experience
Professional Engineering license in New York and/or New Jersey
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred
Working knowledge of traffic software Synchro/Sim Traffic, Vissim, Guide sign, plus AutoCAD/Microstation
Experience with construction related projects a plus
Successful business development experience
Working relationship with Department of Transportation is desirable
Experience working with state or municipal agencies
