    Our Client is a large publicly traded Financial Institution with a global footprint and they are seeking a dynamic Director of Accounting to join their Leadership team in Corporate Accounting. This is a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

    Overview

    Our client is seeking a strong Director of Accounting to work on a fast-paced team in Corporate Accounting. This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Pasadena, CA.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the completion of the monthly close activities, including monitoring to ensure all close activities are completed timely
    • Manage day-to-day activities for teams within the accounting group
    • Review daily and monthly general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
    • Review various schedules for internal reporting requirements including the monthly board package
    • Monthly review of financial statement variance analysis
    • Establishment of relevant accounting policy and procedures for transactions undertaken by and affecting the company
    • Review schedules that support all public filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8K and other SEC filings), as needed
    • Review of schedules for various banking regulatory reports, including the quarterly call and FRY schedules, as needed
    • Assist with research and evaluate accounting transactions and new accounting pronouncements, and application of those impacting financial institutions
    • Work on process improvement as needed.
    • Provide day to day management, oversight, in addition to longer-term development planning of a team of accountants
    • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed.

    Qualifications / Experience:

    • At least 10 years of accounting and solid financial reporting experience
    • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Demonstrate strong research skills regarding current and prospective updates to process and reporting.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
    • Must be team-oriented and able to handle multiple assignments and be deadline oriented.
    • Must have strong analytical, strategic, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
    • Strong technical, communication, and presentation skills
    • Ability to partner well with internal customers
    • Must have experience managing direct reports
    • Banking experience highly preferred
    • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Compensation
    $210,000 per year
