Position Overview:
The Director of Revenue will be pivotal in leading the revenue function, encompassing billing, collections, and revenue recognition. This position will require strategic oversight to optimize financial processes and integrate treasury functions over time. The Director will work closely with revenue-generating teams to improve reporting, drive process efficiencies, and ensure full compliance with SOX standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the Revenue team, ensuring an efficient monthly close process for key revenue streams, including Direct Sales, Advertising, Programmatic Revenue, Affiliate Revenue, and Licensing Contracts.
- Manage and streamline billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes, ensuring strict adherence to SOX compliance.
- Collaborate with Programmatic Teams to maximize advertising revenue through data-driven strategies, managing numerous programmatic partners for optimized ad fill rates.
- Address and remediate material weaknesses and control deficiencies, implementing best practices for robust financial operations.
- Ensure all revenue-related processes are compliant and SOX-ready, meeting deadlines for financial reporting and audits.
- Partner with internal teams to identify new revenue opportunities and integrate treasury responsibilities as needed.
- Build cross-functional relationships and lead initiatives to drive revenue growth and process improvement.
Qualifications:
- CPA required, with substantial experience in public company environments.
- 7+ years of experience in revenue management, financial close, billing, and collections.
- Strong expertise in SOX compliance and a proven track record of remediating control deficiencies.
- Experience with revenue recognition, particularly in programmatic advertising, affiliate revenue, and licensing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead disjointed teams, drive change, and optimize revenue operations.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $150K - $170K, plus up to a 10% bonus.
