  • Responsibilities

    We have been retained by our client, a growing General Contractor in the Houston, TX area, to find a Director of Business Development & Market Strategy. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to capture new business opportunities, with a focus on market analysis, procurement processes, team development, and scaling internal operations.

    Duties:

    • Develop and implement market strategies to identify, pursue, and secure new projects, with clear parameters for targeting opportunities in both government and private sectors.
    • Oversee the procurement process, including Federal, State, and Local contracting, ensuring the team understands the flow of bid opportunities and executes winning strategies.
    • Collaborate with and mentor the existing team, evaluating current capabilities and guiding their professional development to elevate performance.
    • Analyze and optimize internal processes and procedures across the project lifecycle, making recommendations for improvements that enable scalability.
    • Lead the preparation and submission of proposals and bids, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives and market positioning.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Strong background in business development or market strategy within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes.
    • Proven experience in securing projects in both government and private sectors, with a solid track record in Federal, State, and Local contracting.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team, driving continuous improvement and high performance.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of market analysis, client acquisition, and internal process optimization for scaling operations.
