The Director of Business Development, USA is responsible for driving strategic growth and market expansion across the United States. This role will identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and implement strategic plans to increase sales revenue and market share, ultimately contributing to the company's success in the nutraceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets of up to $10 million and expand market share for nutraceutical products.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and partnerships to drive revenue growth and market penetration in B2B segments within a quarter.
- Independently close deals valued up to $1 million.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and brand visibility.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences, using these insights to develop sales strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product launches and promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with sales objectives for the US market.
- Prepare and present business proposals, sales forecasts, and progress reports to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and compliance requirements related to nutraceutical products.
- Provide training and guidance to the sales team to ensure product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies and promotional materials to support sales initiatives and establish the company as a leader in the US nutraceutical market.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote brand awareness.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline using CRM tools to track opportunities, manage leads, and forecast sales performance.
- Negotiate and close sales deals with key clients and partners, ensuring profitable agreements and long-term relationships.
- Develop pricing strategies and promotional offers to maximize profitability and market competitiveness.
- Utilize digital sales channels and e-commerce platforms to expand reach and optimize sales processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a relevant field such as B.Pharm, BS - Biotechnology, or BS - Food Science. MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the nutraceutical, supplements, food ingredients, or pharmaceutical industry.
Relevant certifications in sales or nutraceuticals are advantageous.
Strong understanding of nutraceutical products, US market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and e-commerce platforms.
Experience collaborating with international teams
Compensation: $130,000-150,000 base salary plus a stipend towards benefits.
