    Immanuel Lutheran Day School (ILDS) - Director

    Reporting to: Immanuel Lutheran Church Pastor and ILDS Board

    Supervises: 20+ teachers and support staff

    FSLA Status: Exempt

    Hours of Operation: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday

    Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week; rotating schedule Monday - Friday

    Location: ILDS - 500B Immanuel Rd, Pflugerville, TX 78660

    Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

    Purpose – To manage all aspects of Immanuel Lutheran Day School and support Immanuel Lutheran Church’s ministry of faith while demonstrating strong leadership skills, a friendly demeanor, and a love for children. The successful candidate would create a supportive, encouraging environment, inspiring student and staff retention while meeting or exceeding budgeted financial expectations and ensuring compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Facilities and Texas Rising Star (TRS) criteria.

    Key Responsibilities, Duties and Delegations

    ● Oversee and manage all staff:

    Posting jobs; interviewing candidates; hiring, training, and scheduling staff; ensuring completion of all hiring requirements including background and fingerprint checks; processing payroll (ADP); implementing appropriate behaviors and training for all staff and ensuring their clear understanding and application of Texas Minimum Standards and TRS criteria; attend monthly ILDS Board and ILC Council meetings to provide reports; conduct monthly staff meetings.

    ● Parent, student, and teacher engagement:

    Entering new student data into ProCare software and Tuition Express; Meeting with parents and teachers to discuss children’s development and progress, including documenting and addressing any learning or behavioral issues.

    ● Create and implement budget:

    Developing proposed budget and managing all aspects of the Day School’s finances in conjunction with support staff and the ILDS Board; processing billing and ensuring payment compliance.

    ● Community Outreach, Marketing, and Enrollment:

    Creating and implementing a marketing strategy to promote awareness of the Day School and its services to maintain sufficient teacher and enrollee numbers in accordance with the Day School’s budget; providing exciting and engaging tours to prospective parents and students; promoting Day School, Church and community events like Spooktacular, Breakfast with Easter Bunny, etc.

    ● Develop and implement curricula and educational programs:

    Working with teachers and staff to create learning plans/programs including faith-based plans/programs, and handbooks/manuals to meet state and federal requirements; and implementing the Texas Rising Stars program.

    ● Manage facilities:

    Ensuring that facilities and vehicles are safe, clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked; checking safety equipment; removing hazards.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    ● In-depth knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers and TRS criteria.

    ● Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    ● Strong work ethic and dependability.

    ● Skill in working independently as well as issuing instructions/directions.

    ● Skill in budget development.

    ● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other office software.

    ● Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize time efficiently, and meet deadlines.

    ● Astute attention to detail and ability to methodically develop, review, or update policies/procedures/manuals to comply with applicable state/federal regulations and TRS criteria.

    ● Ability to solve problems/challenges in a professional manner including performing and sharing research obtained to support decisions reached.

    ● Ability to work with children from six weeks of age through 11 years of age.

    ● Ability to interact with a variety of people as a team member and as a leader.

    ● Ability to adapt to change, manage competing demands, and respond positively.

    ● Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    ● Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.

    ● Ability to perform physical activity including lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs.

    ● Ability for work schedule to be flexible to meet the needs of the Day School.

    Academic/Experience Qualifications

    ● Education - Must meet Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers Rule No. 746.1015 regarding education and experience; Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

    ● Child Care Director’s Certificate.

    ● 5 years experience as a Child Care Director preferred.

    ● Experience with TRS program preferred.

    ● Pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR required within 30 days of hire.

    ● Complete annual Texas Minimum Child Development/TRS training.
