    Director of Construction - Owner's Representative with Fitness Franchise - Base Salary to 150k/year - Austin, TX

    • Our client, a well-established Fitness Franchise is currently seeking a Director of Construction as an Owner’s Representative to be based out of their Austin, TX location with 50% in-office, 50% travel (TX, NM, OK, MO).
    • The Director of Construction will utilize their Project Management skills to oversee multiple projects concurrently (ground up and renovations) while leading a team of 4+ Construction/ Project Managers from project approvals to handover ensuring timing, budgets, and quality. Prior experience as an owner's representative is critical to success in this position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the approval process, Ensure compliance, Review and approve designs, Determine scope, phasing, and time estimates
    • Develop bid documents, Negotiate contracts
    • Lead a team of construction / project managers
    • Maintain project budgets, Track costs
    • Be the primary point of contact between internal and external contacts
    • Provide regular updates, Ensure smooth communication across all levels
    • Ensure all projects are completed to spec, on time & meet quality standards
    • Identify potential risks early/ inspections and implement mitigation strategies
    • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and consultants for alignment
    • Oversee project close-out including final inspections, punch lists, and handover

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors’ degree preferred (Construction Management, or related)
    • 5+ years’ experience in construction management as an Owner’s Representative is required (Fitness industry a plus!) Including: Budgeting, Bids, Scheduling, Phasing, Cost management, Contracting, Document control, Project reporting, Closeout; team management
    • Strong MS Office skills: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Project
    • Ability to travel 50% variable based on project requirements

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 135k - 150k/year range
