    Our client is looking for a Director of Cultivation to lead and oversee all aspects of their cultivation operations. This key executive role demands a combination of horticultural expertise, operational excellence, and strong leadership capabilities to drive the cultivation strategy and manage a dynamic team. The Director will be responsible for ensuring that the cultivation process consistently produces top-quality crops, while maintaining efficiency and strict adherence to regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in achieving the company’s growth objectives through strategic planning, process optimization, and team development.

    **This is an in person role in the Palm Springs, CA area.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Oversee all aspects of the cultivation process, from cloning to harvest, including crop maintenance, staffing, and training.
    • Implement and manage cultivation controls software, ensuring operational efficiency.
    • Lead and mentor the cultivation team, fostering a collaborative
    • culture aligned with company goals.
    • Develop and implement strategic cultivation plans in line with sales forecasts and market demand.
    • Ensure product quality control by aligning cultivation practices with customer feedback, sales trends, and marketing forecasts.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations to align cultivation efforts with business strategies.
    • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, including accurate and up-to-date production records.
    • Spearhead research and development efforts to innovate and enhance product quality and yield.
    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for cultivation equipment and facilities.
    • Manage resource allocation and budgeting, ensuring efficient distribution of tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Implement and oversee an integrated pest management system to prevent and address pest and disease issues, including staff training and reporting systems.
    • Develop a pathogen testing program to minimize the risk of crop contamination.
    • Perform comprehensive data analysis to track trends, measure performance, and provide actionable insights for process improvements.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Oversee facility maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of the cultivation environment.
    • Ensure proper pest and disease management protocols, including SOPs and routine workflows for mitigation.
    • Generate and present clear reports on operational performance, key metrics, and data-driven recommendations for efficiency improvements.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated success in managing cultivation operations, ideally within the cannabis industry.
    • Extensive knowledge of plant health, including disease management, pest control, and nutrient optimization.
    • Deep expertise in plant genetics and care, with a solid understanding of various strains and breeding techniques.
    • Experience with advanced environmental control systems, irrigation methods, and soilless growing media.
    • Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with excellent communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for effective data management and reporting.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and cultivation management software.

    Compensation: $120,000-150,000 plus benefits
