    Job Description:

    As the Director of Data Science, you will lead a team of data scientists and analysts to drive strategic initiatives and solve complex problems within the healthcare industry. Your work will be instrumental in developing predictive models, improving patient care, and driving operational efficiencies through data insights. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT, and business leaders, to ensure that data-driven solutions align with organizational goals.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Lead and manage a team of data scientists in developing predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and analytical frameworks to solve complex healthcare problems.

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to drive value-based care and optimize healthcare delivery.

    • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.

    • Design and oversee the integration of large-scale healthcare data sets, including electronic health records (EHR), claims data, and external data sources, to support advanced analytics.

    • Provide technical leadership on the development and deployment of data science solutions, including AI and machine learning models, to enhance clinical decision support systems.

    • Ensure that data governance, privacy, and security standards are met in all data science initiatives.

    • Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies in the healthcare sector, such as natural language processing (NLP) and personalized medicine.

    • Present findings and insights to executive leadership, offering data-driven recommendations to inform strategic decisions.

    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare data science and analytics.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).

    • 8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

    • Proven experience in leading data science projects in the healthcare industry, including experience with EHR data, clinical data, and claims data.

    • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other data privacy laws.

    • Expertise in machine learning, AI, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.

    • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and familiar with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

    • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for data storage and processing.

    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver data-driven solutions on time and within budget.
