    Director of Development Job Description

    This Development Director Job description is intended to describe the essential duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the broad qualification and necessary skills to support the agency standards. As the driving force behind fundraising efforts, the Development Director plays a key role in ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization and the success of its programs and services.

    This position will be part-time and reports directly to the Executive Director, with duties to include but are not limited to the list below:

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Work with the Board and Executive Director to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization.

    2. Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Fundraising Plan.

    3. Set annual monetary goals and budgets, according to short and long-term goals.

    4. Establish fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one year, five year, and implement projected longer-term goals planning strategies.

    5. Maintain a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals.

    6. Produce relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to previous donors and the public.

    7. Research potential sources of grants and apply for grants and public funding.

    8. Oversee the fundraising process and platform and maintain records of receipts and disbursements of funds.

    9. Analyze fundraising data and present it to the Executive Director and the board.

    10. Work with the Board to plan fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.

    11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Fundraising, Non-profit administration or related field requires

    At minimum 2 years of proven experience in fundraising for a non-profit organization is preferred.
