POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Education is responsible for executing and overseeing the management of all ULMS Education programs, staff, contractors, and advocacy efforts under the guidance and direction of the VP of Youth & Workforce Development. This role provides leadership in planning for procedures, methods, and techniques needed for effective execution of ULMS education programs and growth of education programming. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, reporting, assessment, tracking, and communications.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
5+ years of experience in progressively responsible positions related to childhood education and/or youth development
2 +years’ program management experience in education/early childhood education sector
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Direct experience in working with “opportunity” or “at-risk” youth including knowledge of the Seattle Public School system
Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and community partners
Direct experience working with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
Strong knowledge and relationships within the education and/or early childhood education sector locally and nationally
Strong and engaging verbal and written communication skills
Excellent, results oriented organizational skills, with the ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple activities
Ability to manage multiple projects, set and change priorities while ensuring excellent attention to detail, quality and timeliness
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule when necessary, consistent with the demands and needs of the executive team, volunteers, community leaders, and related special events
ULMS TOTAL COMPENSATION ** Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period
