Job Summary:
McMillen Health is seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Educational Resources to lead our efforts in developing innovative low-literacy curricula and custom educational resources tailored for third-party organizations. This role involves overseeing the strategic design and implementation of essential educational programs, including the Brush Oral Health Program. As the Director, you will manage a talented team of five, driving the creation and deployment of grant-funded resources that empower organizations serving Medicaid populations, such as Head Start, Early Head Start, and WIC.
In this pivotal position, you will collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and specialized groups to ensure that project goals are met and that resources are effectively utilized. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Sustainability with scheduled hours Monday through Friday at our McMillen Health facility.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership & Oversight: Spearhead the development and design of low-literacy educational resources, ensuring alignment with best practices and instructional standards.
· Program Implementation: Guide the implementation of educational resources in pilot projects, fine-tuning them before wide-scale dissemination.
· Brush Oral Health Program: Manage the annual budget and operations of the Brush Oral Health Program, ensuring Professional Trainers deliver high-quality training and identifying opportunities for program expansion.
· Guidance & Mentorship: Provide support and expertise in low-literacy curriculum development, helping to foster an environment of continuous learning within your team.
· Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external partners to build strategic resources and partnerships that enhance program impact and outreach.
· Program Evaluation: Develop and implement evaluative measures to assess the effectiveness of resources, leveraging data to drive improvements.
· Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all educational resources comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
· Budget Management: Prepare and oversee the departmental budget, including procurement of supplies for interactive resource development.
· Research Integration: Stay informed about trends and research in health education, integrating new insights into resource creation and delivery.
· Outreach & Advocacy: Represent McMillen Health at community events, conferences, and meetings, promoting our educational initiatives and cultivating partnerships.
· Additional Duties: Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations and Sustainability and CEO.
Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Design, Public Health, Education, Health Promotion, Community Health, Administration, Anthropology, or a related field preferred; significant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
· 3-5 years of proven leadership and management experience, with a strong background in staff supervision and development.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of expertise in educational program development and implementation, preferably in the nonprofit or public health sectors.
· In-depth knowledge of health education principles, curriculum design, and evaluation methodologies.
· Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
· Proven ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including Medicaid service organizations, community bodies, educational institutions, and health providers.
· Proficiency in utilizing data and technology to enhance program delivery and evaluate outcomes.
