    Strong produce company seeking experience food safety, quality and compliance candidate to hire for their Director role.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and coordinate all technical services activities, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, managing product support, and maintaining quality assurance standards
    • Coordinate activities as cross functional team member; Procurement, Sales & Marketing to ensure alignment with quality objectives and specifications
    • Communicate all information to management levels during the development of improvement programs
    • Align technical activities with the company’s long-term goals and market trends
    • Lead cross-functional teams to drive technical initiatives and improvements
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development
    • Develop and implement training programs for employees to ensure they are up-to date with the latest industry standards and technologies
    • Serve as a key leader during crisis management, which depends on severity of situation, this position directs cross-functional response team to evaluate and determine corrective action, as required to ensure food safety and quality of products
    • Oversee the QA department and ensure daily QA support at sheds and review rejections with shed teams
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance technical services efficiency and effectiveness
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into KRP processes
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the technical services functions

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture business, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in QA, Food Safety and compliance related jobs within produce industry .
    • Must have demonstrated capacity to work well with others, strong organizational and communication skills, and service-focused attitude
    • Current knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, CDFA, FSMA, etc.)
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
