We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of HR to join our team and help create a supportive and nurturing workplace for our staff while upholding the Christian values and educational excellence we are known for.
Key Responsibilities:
Woodland Academy is seeking an experienced and effective, process-focused Human Resources professional with a history of success in a senior leadership role who can grow along with us. The HR Director (part-time 10-20 hours weekly) will work collaboratively with our Founder, Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):
· Oversee all aspects of HR including onboarding, training and development, performance evaluations, employee relations, and compliance from our Christian world view
· Manage onboarding and training programs for new and tenured employees
· Ensure compliance with local and state employment laws, regulations, and safety standards
· Develop and maintain employee policies and procedures consistent with the mission and vision of Woodland Academy
· Handle employee relations, including performance reviews, conflict resolution, and professional development through the state’s professional development registry
· Maintain required systems and documentation of all accrediting organizations
· Develop long-term strategies and key initiatives to help team members
· Collaborate with administration to foster a positive and nurturing work environment
· Establish new and streamline existing HR processes and oversee HR systems
· Ensure compliance with all human resources and employment regulatory requirements
· Recommend, develop, and implement best practices
· Monitor payroll, benefits, and HR record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
· Develop an understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach in a Christian context to ensure your support of teaching and support staff in their roles within our school
· Review, manage, and maintain accurate job descriptions for all positions within the organization
· On-site each week, part-time 10+ hours weekly
Qualifications:
3+ years of diverse experience in human resources
Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience with Education and Childcare programs a plus
Knowledge and understanding of all current relevant Federal, state and local labor and employment laws accompanied by the drive to keep up to date and understand future legislation (with the assistance of external resources)
Ability to work with and across all levels of the organization, including the capability to diplomatically influence Executive Leadership Team members
Clear and strategic thinker, with ability to quickly identify root causes of problems and develop creative and strategic solutions
Very organized and detail-oriented
Strong and confident interpersonal skills
Strong judgment and critical thinking skills
Versatile and willing to contribute to the organization in many ways
Ability to build relationships with a diverse staff and applicant pool
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
