    Currently we are seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person will oversee process engineering and continuous improvement activities within our manufacturing operations. This strategic role is responsible for managing our facilities, leading the manufacturing engineering team, and driving initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality. This position is responsible for managing project timelines and budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class products.

    Your Role in Our Mission:

    Develop and execute manufacturing engineering strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.

    Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, including facilities engineers and continues improvement engineers.

    Designs and improves material storage and process flow.

    Provides capital project justifications.

    Oversee the design, installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

    Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, applying methodologies as adopted by the company to enhance operational performance.

    Collaborate with high level cross-functional teams to align engineering projects with company goals and production targets.

    Manage capital budget and project timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions into the manufacturing process.

    Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

    Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments to inform product roadmap decisions and maintain our competitive edge.

    Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning within the engineering team.

    Provides regular project updates to the executive team.

    Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

    Management responsibilities:

    Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

    Oversees the workflow of the departments.

    Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

    Works with HR and handles coaching, development, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    To Perfom your Job Successfully:

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); Master's degree preferred.

    Proven experience (8+ years) in engineering leadership roles within the heavy manufacturing industry, with a focus on vehicle design, preferably garbage trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.

    Strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering principles, including CAD software proficiency.

    Demonstrated track record of leading successful engineering projects from concept to production, with a focus on innovation and quality.

    Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to heavy manufacturing and vehicle design.
