Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Director of M&A to lead our financial strategy, with a strong emphasis on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and financial planning. This individual will play a pivotal role in identifying and sourcing potential M&A opportunities, managing relationships with lending institutions, and driving financial forecasts and budgeting. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience within logistics, supply chain, or food and beverage manufacturing and has a demonstrated track record of completing multiple M&A transactions, including post-merger integration. We seek a go-getter with a sales approach to building connections and navigating complex financial landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mergers & Acquisitions:
• Source and identify potential M&A opportunities, leveraging an established network with investment bankers, private equity firms, and industry leaders.
• Proactively reach out to founders and key stakeholders to establish deal opportunities, and effectively communicate the company’s strategic vision and value.
• Drive the entire M&A lifecycle, from due diligence and negotiation to completion, ensuring seamless post-merger integration and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Relationship Management:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with lenders and financial institutions, overseeing lending terms and compliance.
• Act as a financial ambassador for the company, nurturing relationships with current and potential financial partners.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with operational objectives and financial targets.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making and support company growth initiatives.
• Financial Strategy & Planning:
• Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and market conditions.
• Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 10+ years in finance with a proven track record of leading successful M&A deals, preferably with extensive experience beyond a handful of transactions.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong background in logistics, supply chain, or food and beverage manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to cultivate and leverage relationships with bankers, private equity firms, and other financial stakeholders.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and M&A financial modeling.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
