Abria Detox is seeking a Director of Nursing for our newly established private facility, which offers 24/7 detoxification and withdrawal management services. We specialize in treating individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our 20-bed facility serves both male and female clients aged 18 and older.
This position may require working additional hours in the evenings and on weekends and being on-call for consultation during emergencies.
Supervisory Duties:
Provides administrative and clinical leadership, delegating tasks to nursing staff to ensure the delivery of quality care.
Directs the hiring, evaluation, counseling, and termination of nursing department staff in accordance with human resources standards and affirmative action laws.
Ensures all training and services align with Abria Detox Standards and protocols.
Manages the department budget to ensure efficient resource utilization..
Mentor and guide nurses, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Clinical Care:
Implements and maintains policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all current regulations and nursing standards.
Ensures proper administration and monitoring of medications, including those used for managing withdrawal symptoms.
Monitors clients progress and outcomes, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to optimize recovery and safety.
Responds to clinical emergencies, providing leadership and support to staff to ensure effective and timely interventions.
Communication and Coordination:
Acts as a liaison between nursing staff and senior management, conveying critical updates and feedback.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory communication requirements, including documentation and reporting.
Oversees creating and disseminating nursing schedules, ensuring optimal coverage and adherence to staffing needs.
Promotes a culture of collaboration and open communication within the nursing department.
Quality and Compliance:
Maintains medical charting and required documentation in compliance with state regulatory guidelines, licensing requirements, and corporate policies.
Established clinical staff development programs to meet regulatory requirements, clinical standards, and staff needs.
Promotes a culture of collaboration and open communication within the nursing department.
Maintain a safe, secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training.
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in Minnesota with a clean record.
Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with supervisory experience preferred.
Free of chemical use problems for at least two years prior to hiring.
Successful background check completion.
Deep understanding of addiction, co-occurring mental health disorders, and withdrawal management.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certification in Addictions Nursing (CARN) is highly advantageous.
