    HOURS:

    Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

    • Monday - Friday; 9:00am - 5:30pm

     

     

    DESCRIPTION:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nutrition and Food Services to join our team. As the Director, you will oversee all aspects of food services and nutrition programs within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of nutrition and food services are provided to our clients and patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for nutrition and a desire to make a difference in the health and well-being of others.

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and implement nutrition programs and services to meet the needs of our clients across all agency programs including contracted food services and in-house food services.
    • Plan menus consistent with New York City Food Standards.
    • Create, update and maintain food service standards. Provide guidance and coaching and effectiveness monitoring for food service standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food service regulations and guidelines.
    • Collaborate with Programs and the Chief Medical Officer and VP Nursing to develop and implement effective nutrition and food service strategies inclusive of medical dietary needs, cultural dietary needs, and allergy mitigation strategies.
    • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of nutrition and food service programs and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of quality food and nutrition products and disseminate that program to food service programs agencywide.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all food service compliance reporting and ensure requirements are followed.
    • Provide support and professional development opportunities for all staff assigned through the development, monitoring and maintenance of performance goals and objectives.
    • Mentor and coach food service staff as required. Collaborate with site directors for growth opportunities for the staff.
    • Assist in hiring and training staff.

     

    JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field
    • Experience with New York City Food Standards
    • Proven experience in a leadership role within the nutrition and food services field
    • Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and guidelines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
    • Proficiency in computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office and nutrition analysis software
    • Experience working in a healthcare or food service setting is preferred, but not required
    • TB Clearance required.

     

    Preferred:

    • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
    • Experience working in mental health, substance abuse or intellectual disability setting.
