    Position Summary

    The Director of Quality Control for Parts Manufacturing is a key leadership role responsible for establishing and managing the quality control program across the parts manufacturing division. This role will oversee all quality assurance protocols, regulatory compliance, and inspection processes to ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations. The Director will lead a team of quality control managers, engineers, and inspectors and collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest levels of product quality and reliability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Quality Management & Strategy: Develop, implement, and refine the company’s quality control strategy for parts manufacturing, aligning with industry best practices and company objectives.

    • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the quality control team, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.

    • Process Development & Compliance: Establish, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

    • Product Inspection & Testing: Oversee the inspection, testing, and evaluation of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.

    • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality control function, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance process efficiency and product quality.

    • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis efforts on quality issues, coordinating with engineering, production, and suppliers to develop corrective actions and preventive measures.

    • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to assess and monitor supplier quality, conducting audits and developing improvement plans as needed.

    • Customer Interaction: Act as a point of contact for customers on quality-related issues, addressing concerns and ensuring resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.

    • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on quality metrics, trends, and improvement efforts to executive leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.

    • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in quality control within the manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in parts manufacturing is highly desirable.

    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, ISO standards).

    • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams in a manufacturing environment.

    • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex data and implement improvements.

    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interfacing with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

    • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

    Working Conditions
