The Poverello House is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving the homeless, poor, and hungry of Fresno Since 1973, when its founder, Mike McGarvin, began handing out sandwiches on the street. Today the organization now provides three meals a day, 365 days a year, to anyone in need, groceries to families, medical and dental care, shower and laundry services, transportation for medical reasons, clothing, day shelter, mail services, and other supportive social services. Poverello House is looking for a Director of Rehabilitation to oversee the inpatient men’s rehabilitation program and ensure its success. Reporting directly to the Chief Programs Officer, this position involves managing rehabilitation staff, practicing clinical expertise, analyzing program data, and executing a detailed work plan.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the rehabilitation program team through supervision, mentoring, and guidance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Implement a work plan aligned with the program and organizational goals/objectives.
- Show compassion and empathy to develop rapport with program participants and staff.
- Monitor program progress and adjust to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, and report on program performance and participant outcomes data. Be directly responsible for all reporting related to the rehab program.
- Prepare quarterly reports for senior management and board members.
- Ensure the program complies with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage the program budget and utilize funding to best support the program participants.
- Utilize a client management system (Apricot) for case management, data collection, and reporting.
- Work with other departments throughout the organization to ensure that the effectiveness of the program includes collaborative efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- At least 3 years of experience in social services, healthcare, counseling or related field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience leading staff teams in a grant-funded environment.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related field.
- A passion for serving those in need and understanding of the clientele served at Poverello House.
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written with computer and email proficiency.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with proven ability to work independently with guidance.
- Reliable transportation, insurance coverage and valid driver’s license.
- Experience working in a drug/alcohol rehabilitation program or recovery program.
- Possess a California SUD Counselor Certification or other related professional certification (preferred).
