Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership:
- Oversee the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage customer settlements and invoicing processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and GAAP.
- Team Management:
- Develop and lead a high-performing team of accounting professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
- Process Improvement:
- Optimize accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline workflows.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial integration.
- Strategic Thinking:
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management.
- Identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
- Develop and implement financial plans and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification Required.
- Big 4 / Public Accounting experience required
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including team management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and ASC 606.
- Experience in the utility or renewables industry preferred.
- Experience with PowerOptix, Commodity XL (CXL), or other commercial trading/invoicing systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to revenue accounting.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Hybrid position - 3 days in office
