They are seeking a Business Development & Sales Director -Gut Health to spearhead efforts in expanding their presence in the digestive health and gut health market. This is a remote position, offering an exciting opportunity to make an impact in a fast-growing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Lead the sales efforts for our client's functional food products, with a focus on the digestive health and gut health market. Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's market share within these segments.
- Scientific Communication: Utilize your background in nutrition, biology, or chemistry to effectively communicate the benefits of our client's products, including gut bacteria, probiotics, and other digestive health solutions, to potential customers.
- Customer Targeting and Market Research: Leverage strong analytical skills to research and identify the right customer base for our client’s products. Use data-driven insights to target and pursue new business opportunities within the supplement and functional food industries.
- Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key players in the digestive health and supplement sectors. Serve as a knowledgeable partner, focusing on client needs and product fit to drive sales.
Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with leadership, including direct reporting to the President, to align sales goals with overall company objectives. Provide insights on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive positioning to help shape strategy.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: While not necessarily focused on managing a team, the role may involve guiding and mentoring junior sales staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing sales environment.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Masters or PhD degree in nutrition, biology, chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degrees or equivalent experience in digestive health, probiotics, or gut health solutions are highly desirable.
- Industry Experience: At least 7+ years of sales experience in the supplement or functional food industry, with a focus on digestive health or gut health products.
- MUST HAVE at least five (5) years of experience in B2B sales, specifically in the selling raw functional ingredients, with a proven ability to sell science-based, technical products.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze customer data, market trends, and identify potential business opportunities. Must be data-driven with the ability to conduct detailed research and market analysis.
- Sales Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex, science-based products to non-expert customers. Ability to confidently present product benefits and speak with authority on the digestive health market.
- Proven Track Record: A history of successfully developing and executing sales strategies for scientific or health-focused products. Experience in business development, particularly in gut health or digestive health products, is a plus.
- Self-Motivated and Remote Ready: Must be able to work independently in a remote setting, managing time effectively while aligning with company objectives.
