About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead and grow our core sales business. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of six Regional Sales Managers across the U.S. and Canada. The Director of Sales will drive strategic sales initiatives, ensure profitability within each region, and play a key role in expanding market coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow the core business, ensuring long-term success and revenue growth.
- Lead and mentor a team of six Regional Sales Managers, fostering a high-performance sales culture.
- Oversee and optimize regional profitability, ensuring accountability across sales teams.
- Conduct market assessments and support succession planning efforts.
- Identify and address market coverage gaps through strategic hiring initiatives.
- Utilize CRM systems to track sales performance and KPIs effectively.
- Engage in both short-term and long-term sales cycles, balancing immediate transactional business with strategic account management.
- Work closely with key account management teams to enhance customer relationships and drive retention.
- Represent the company in cold-call outreach and on-site client visits within industrial and manufacturing sectors.
- Travel up to 75% across the U.S. and Canada.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing large sales teams (team leadership experience is more critical than specific industry experience).
- Strong background in industrial sales or manufacturing is required.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage regional sales profitability.
- Expertise in CRM tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and utilize KPIs to drive performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
