    Job Description

    We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead and drive the sales of our energy management solution in the multi-tenant building sector beginning in the New York and Massachusetts markets. Working hand-in-hand with the company’s executive team, this leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy, recruiting and managing the sales team, and delivering scalable channel partnerships. This role requires a strong leader with sales acumen and a deep understanding of energy solutions and multi-tenant building operations.

    Responsibilities

    Sales Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for targeting multi-tenant buildings, housing authorities, and commercial building owners starting in New York and Massachusetts. Lead and inspire the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets.

    Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed revenue targets through organic sales and existing third party relationships. Establish new partnerships to unlock scalable channel sales.

    Team Development: Recruit, lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

    Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and report on sales performance to the executive team, with an emphasis on meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.

    Market Intelligence & Industry Advocacy: Stay current on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity. Represent energyGuard at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to establish and increase brand visibility and market positioning.

    Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams including marketing, product development, and customer success to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience and identify opportunities for product enhancements.

    Customer Satisfaction & Retention: Collaborate with the Customer Success team to implement strategies to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, fostering long-term relationships, repeat business, and referrals.

    Requirements

    Essential Requirements:

    Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably selling energy solutions into the commercial buildings market

    Proven track record of success in sales, with a strong focus on customer relationships,revenue growth, and team recruitment and management.

    Proven ability to source and execute strategic channel partnerships.

    Excellent leadership communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

    Proficiency with one or more CRM software tools, sales analytics, and Microsoft Office suite

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred

    Strong understanding of multi-tenant building operations and management

    Preferable Requirements:

    Experience with energy management systems, HVAC systems, or related products

    Knowledge of the Massachusetts and New York building codes and regulations and energy efficiency policies

    Existing network of contacts/prospects in the multi-tenant building industry

    Proven sales track record in a start-up environment
