    Director of Surgical Services – Registered Nurse – Acute Care

    Our Client: Our Client is a full-service healthcare provider that has served the city of Fort Worth for over 20 years.

    The Position: Our Client is seeking a qualified Director of Surgical Services in Fort Worth, TX. The role of Director of Surgical Services leads the perioperative team by focusing on safe patient care while effectively managing operations. The Director Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience as an acute care surgical services director. Our Client is offering the following benefits and compensation:

    • $118,000 to $177,000 depending on relevant experience
    • Annual performance bonus – 15%

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
    • Direct report to the VP of Procedural Services
    • Oversee OR and all perioperative departments with 5 direct reports:
      • Main OR Manager, CVOR Manager, Preop/PACU Manager, Endo Manager, PAT Supervisor
      • Roughly 100 full-time employees
    • 17 operating rooms (13 main and 4 CVOR) – Under construction to add 4 additional OR’s
    • 4 endo suites
    • Ortho, spine, neuro, general, CV, kidney transplants, surgical oncology, bariatrics
    • Volume:
      • 6,000 to 7,000 OR cases annually
      • 300 to 400 cases per month for the endo suites
    • Accurately identify real/potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions with follow through and communication
    • Actively participate in service, departmental and hospital wide committees assigned, providing ongoing communication
    • Coach subordinates through providing feedback, constructive critique of work, facilitates individual development plan, and documents their job performance
    • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices
    • Enforce standards of care for surgical services and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program which assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital mission
    • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy, environmental, patient, and personnel safety
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements:

    • Licensed RN in the state of Texas, active and clear of reprimands or deficiencies
    • BSN required
    • MSN, MBA or healthcare administration or related field preferred
    • Certified Nursing Operating (CNOR) preferred
    • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as an Acute Care Surgical Services Director required (this is the only experience that will be considered)
      • Prefer experience to be in CVOR, neurosurgery or transplant
