    Job Description

    This position is responsible for dispatch, customer service and compliance with health, safety, security and environmental regulations. Administrative duties include but are not limited to reporting, paperwork and timekeeping. This position is for Monday through Friday, from 3 am to 3 pm.

    Responsibilities

    Dispatch

    1. Oversee vehicles and drivers in a way that optimizes company resources including deliveries, assignment of drivers to trucks, assignment of trucks to routes, to maximize operational efficiency, product retain, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability in adherence with safety requirements.
    2. Maintain constant communications with drivers to ensure all customers are serviced with 100% reliability and that drivers are given the support they need to complete a successful route.
    3. Manage schedule changes (due to driver absences, business changes, and/or vehicle maintenance) and adjust assignments/routes accordingly, communicating changes to appropriate operations/sales representatives.
    4. Provide dispatch support on assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays, managing emergencies and directing response efforts when needed. Review and analyze previous day’s deliveries to ensure routes were adhered to and efficiency levels were met/exceeded and log and report emergency delivery details.
    5. Manage and escalate accident and product contaminations, spills, and other emergencies reported by drivers to appropriate operations leadership in compliance with SC Fuels environmental, health, safety and security guidelines. Attend driver meetings and safety meetings.

    Route Review/ Orders

    1. Review all paperwork that has been turned in to ensure all customers were serviced, all lunches and breaks were taken and to review any driver notes. Maintain a running daily inventory log and research/escalate any inventory discrepancies.
    2. Review orders entered by customer service team and clarify/correct as required. Create recurring orders in dispatch system. Check Web-based monitors for tank levels and generate delivery tickets if needed. Maintain and update barcodes in internal back office system.

    Reporting

    1. Update, maintain, and create reports that are requested by supervisor including those required by other departments

    Field Operations

    1. Meet drivers in the field to ensure attention-required accounts are being swiftly addressed and that new accounts are set up for successful execution.

    Fleet Maintenance and Authorizations

    1. Coordinate vehicle maintenance with mechanics based on driver feedback and regular maintenance schedules to ensure fleet is maintained with federal, state and DOT regulations. Maintain proper paperwork with loading racks to ensure that all vehicles can load product.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

    Pay Rates Starting between: $25.85 - $42.70 / hour

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1. Minimum 2 years dispatch or transportation experience
    2. Minimum 1-year administrative experience
    3. Knowledge of DOT regulations, hazardous materials, lubricants or other industry related experience preferred
    4. Working knowledge (advanced proficiency preferred) in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and ability to learn new programs/applications in a timely manner
    5. Ability to read, spell, write and comprehend English at an intermediate level. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
    6. Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
    7. Some supervisory experience preferred
    8. Detail oriented
    9. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
    10. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    11. Ability to function in stressful situations and remain calm
    12. Must be able to function independently
    13. High school diploma or equivalent

    Physical Demands

    1. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    2. Regularly required to sit, frequently required to use arms/hands/fingers to operate computers, phones and other office equipment.
    3. Frequently required to hear and talk in person or via phone with customers, drivers, etc.
    4. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
    5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
