District Sales Manager – Coding and Marking Equipment
Candidates can live in St. Louis or Kansas City
SUMMARY
Manage distributors and direct accounts in the assigned Territory, achieve regional sales goals, achieve annual revenue growth, and complete other objectives as determined. The territory includes multiple states, as determined.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales:
- Develop, manage, support and drive sales via existing Distribution network within the sales territory.
- Call on distributors and end-user customers within the territory on a regular (daily) basis.
- Meet expectations for recruiting new distribution where needed to increase revenue.
- Maintain effective sales reporting within the Salesforce platform including opportunities, forecasting, pipeline, lead follow-up, and contacts, while managing business via Dashboards and Reports in Salesforce.
- Manage end-user sales projects with distributor personnel in all areas of sales cycle when needed.
- Train distributor sales teams on all company equipment and consumable offerings and sales methods.
- Work closely with Distributor Sales Representatives in prospecting for new customers and maintaining existing customer base.
- Achieve and exceed annual territory sales targets.
- Travel to work with distributors in the field, greater than 50% of the time.
- Acquire and maintain technical expertise to demonstrate and explain the operation, features, and benefits of the company product line.
- Train distributor personnel on demonstration and installation of equipment and software.
Miscellaneous:
- Timely response to all customer/distributor inquires and requests.
- Provide basic service and set-up (Demo) of equipment and provide routine maintenance of all demonstration equipment.
- Provide feedback to Sales Director related to industry trends, competition, market needs, etc.
- Attend and participate in Corporate Annual Sales Meetings, Regional Sales Trainings, National and Regional Trade Shows.
- Effectively work with internal departments to accomplish tasks and to meet the needs of customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must meet or exceed sales objectives at least three (3) of five (5) years of employment.
- Display leadership qualities.
- Provide creative solutions for unique applications and situations.
- Possess strong professional selling skills.
- Proficient in the utilization of internal and external resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and CRM, Salesforce CRM a plus.
- Ability to work in and demonstrate products in a production environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Execution-oriented with proven ability to understand expectations and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate information and create analytical approaches to achieve results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel (overnight travel required; occasional weekend travel – trade shows, etc.).
- Ability to work from home office.
- Ability to operate general office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax, computer, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Use of skills requiring motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g. keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) during most of a normal workday.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 30 pounds.
