    Position Overview for Earthwork Division Manager:

    The Division Manager – Earthwork Construction will oversee the planning, coordination, and management of the Earthwork Division. This individual will be responsible for leading estimating efforts, securing new business, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring efficient project delivery. The ideal candidate is an experienced, highly motivated professional with strong communication skills, a dedication to building productive teams, and an ability to manage both people and processes.

    Duties & Responsibilities of Earthwork Division Manager:

    • Strategic Leadership & Management
      • Direct and manage all earthwork operations within the division, including estimating, scheduling, and execution of commercial, municipal, and private development projects.
      • Provide mentorship, guidance, and oversight to team members, ensuring projects meet or exceed performance, profitability, and client satisfaction targets.
      • Develop and implement division-wide strategies to drive growth, profitability, and client retention.
    • Estimating & Project Development
      • Acquire, read, and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate project scope understanding.
      • Provide clear, accurate, and detailed quantity take-offs for earthwork and related construction activities.
      • Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost for construction projects.
      • Ensure initial project schedules are developed and maintained utilizing scheduling software.
    • Client & Business Development
      • Procure, develop, and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, potential clients, and vendors.
      • Attend industry banquets, luncheons, and events to represent the company and foster business relationships.
      • Oversee the creation of commercial, municipal, and private development proposals for submission to clients.
    • Subcontractor & Supplier Relations
      • Procure subcontractor pricing and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
      • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure quality services at competitive prices.
    • Technical Proficiency & Quality Control
      • Utilize advanced-level knowledge of AutoCAD, HCSS Heavy Bid, AgTek Earthwork Estimating Software (or equivalent) to drive efficient estimating processes.
      • Receive drawings, specifications, and other required project documents electronically, ensuring that project teams have the necessary resources.
      • Attend pre-bid and other project-related meetings as required.
    • Team Collaboration
      • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, professional development, and teamwork.
      • Support cross-department coordination to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.

    Minimum Qualifications for Earthwork Division Manager:

    • Education & Experience
      • High School diploma or equivalent.
      • B.S. degree in a business-related discipline preferred, but not required.
      • At least 5 years of earthwork estimating experience (related field experience preferred).
    • Technical Skills
      • Proficiency in AutoCAD and scheduling software.
      • Advanced-level experience with HCSS Heavy Bid and AgTek Earthwork Estimating Software (or comparable systems).
    • Licenses & Travel
      • Current valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (no DUIs, DWIs, speeding tickets, suspensions, or revocations within the past 3 years).
      • Willingness and ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.

    • Compensation
      $120,000-$150,000 per year
