    JOB DESCRIPTION School Administrator

    Experience/Education

    Must provide documentation of high school diploma, college degree, CDA or equivalent training. Has a minimum of 2 years of experience in specified age group. Knowledge and understanding of all current State and Local regulations. Must pass a criminal background check. Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification Maintain TB Test Maintain Food Handler Certification At least 18 years of age (25 if van driving responsibility) Must be willing to obtain at least 24 hours of training annually required by Licensing.  

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to stoop, bend and sit on a child’s level. Able to physically and mentally interact and react to children on the playground and/or in the classroom and attend to their needs. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in the course of caring for children and managing emergency situations Will frequently lift as in lifting, carrying and holding infants and children.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Perform administrative duties including required documentation filing, emails, phone calls, organizational tasks, sorting/sending mail and good time management skills. Constantly and consistently practices exemplary customer service. Keeping an inventory of office supplies and ordering new materials as needed Taking and delivering messages Takes major responsibility in collecting tuition and fees on a weekly basis. Posts all payments and makes daily deposits, faxes the deposit slip to Corporate/Owner along with the deposit report as assigned. AR’s maintained at a 5% or below balance each week. Ensures efficient management of telephone calls and is able to turn 80% of inquiry calls to tours. Maintains children’s files and maintains a 90% completion rate at all times. Basic auditing skills (i.e. making sure files are up-to-date, employee and children’s files are correct, training records are maintained, etc.) All phone calls will be answered by the third ring. All visitors will be greeted with a smile within 10 seconds of walking in the door. Keep a positive and helpful attitude with clients. Ensuring the office runs smoothly Assist in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe. Ability and willingness to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the school including food service, assisting in the classroom, and driving the bus. Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, community contacts, and state licensing authorities. Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws as well as Childrens Lighthouse policies and procedures Helps with enrollment inquiries, tour packets, follow-up, and school tours in order to increase enrollment Develops and actively maintains positive communication with parents, recognizing parental concerns, helping to evaluate a course of action, and responding professionally to parents’ needs Helps supervise staff, keeps Director apprised of staff concerns and situations needing attention, and provides performance appraisal input to Director Assist with achieving the enrollment goals through effective school tours, community outreach, and local marketing events Completes the School Administrator checklist. Completes and checks bus runs as assigned and necessary. Develops and actively maintains positive communication with parents, recognizing parental concerns, helping to evaluate a course of action, and responding professionally to parents’ needs Assists and/or creates calendars, newsletters, memos and social media as assigned. Plans events and actively participates, including staff meetings, training sessions, open houses, planning sessions, etc. Assists in New Employee Onboarding as needed. Participates in activities of professional and personal growth to maximize opportunity for succession within management. Helps ensure that quality control of programs is sound and meets state and Childrens Lighthouse requirements, providing feedback to Director on quality control issues and helping to resolve them Interact with families and children to maintain a calm, professional atmosphere. Working evening hours and performing closing tasks. Completes additional miscellaneous duties as assigned
