Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic part-time Dock Attendant to join our team at the Port of Indecision. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for the maritime industry, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. As a Dock Attendant, you will play a critical role in maintaining our dock facilities, assisting boaters, and enhancing the overall experience at our ports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist incoming and outgoing vessels with docking and mooring procedures.
- Provide outstanding customer service to boaters, answering questions and offering guidance on port facilities and local attractions.
- Regularly inspect dock areas for safety hazards and cleanliness, reporting any issues to management.
- Monitor vessel traffic.
- Facilitate the rental and return of boats, dock equipment, such as cleats, fenders, and lines.
- Assist with the management of port reservations and scheduling.
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, landscaping, and minor repairs.
- Uphold safety and environmental regulations while ensuring a pleasant experience for all patrons.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a customer service role or the maritime industry is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic understanding of boating terminology and safety practices.
- Must be physically capable of performing dock-related tasks including lifting and moving equipment.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Evening shifts may also be required, depending on port activity.
