    Job Description

    The Document Controller will play a critical role in supporting business operations, engineering, and quality assurance through the management of software programs and web-based data applications. This position involves supporting configuration management, data analysis, and document control activities across multiple departments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of data and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze, maintain, and update configuration data within engineering, business, and quality software programs (e.g., PLM, PDM, ERP, Company Intranet, and QMS systems).
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across multiple platforms, making updates as necessary and ensuring alignment with business requirements.
    • Assist with managing the configuration and version control of software, systems, engineering, and production build specific documentation, including maintaining records of updates, changes, and revisions.
    • Generate reports and provide analysis for stakeholders, offering insights on data trends, project performance, and system efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new software systems and applications, contributing to system improvement and optimization.
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain compliance with company requirements and industry standards.
    • Provide training and support to employees on software programs and data applications to ensure consistent and accurate use of systems.
    • Maintain a systematic process for controlling and tracking business-related documentation, including specifications, drawings, procedures, and project files.
    • Ensure all documents are correctly named, filed, version-controlled, and accessible to authorized personnel while maintaining proper document security.
    • Organize, archive, and retrieve historical documents and data in line with company retention policies and legal requirements.
    • Coordinate document reviews and approvals, ensuring timely distribution of updated materials to relevant stakeholders across engineering, business, and quality departments.
    • Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and business teams to ensure documentation aligns with operational standards and requirements.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
    • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent organizational skills with experience managing large volumes of data and documentation.
    • Capable of training and supporting team members on software systems and documentation procedures.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Quality Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 3+ years’ experience in quality engineering, configuration management, data analysis, and/or document control role
    • 10+ years’ experience in a CDM, quality engineering, technical writing, or document controller role may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
    • Familiarity with business, engineering, and quality software applications such as ERP, PDM, PLM, QMS, or similar systems.
    • Strong knowledge of web-based data applications and configuration management principles.
    • Proven ability to manage documentation within regulatory or ISO environments.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and reporting tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with web-based document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar platforms)
    • Knowledge of data governance, system integration, and process optimization within engineering or quality management contexts
    • Understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other industry-specific standards
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on cross-departmental teamwork.
