  • Responsibilities

    _GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE _

    Under the direction of the Financial Accounting Manager, schedules and processes all disbursements to ensure timely and accurate reporting of charges for accounting purposes in compliance with the accepted FAMP practices of Dole Food Company Hawaii and Dole Food Company, Inc. Responsible for the recordation off all cash receipts to proper accounts and interface with accounts receivable system. Performs treasury reporting functions and is the contact person between Dole, Banks and the Corporate Treasury.  

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Ensures compliance with the GAAP, corporate policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

    • Maintains product and material inventory control reports to reconcile receipts, sales, usage and physical inventory.

    • Organizes and processes miscellaneous payable documents after proper auditing and final verification of FAP authorization.

    • Responsible for the recordation of all cash receipts, lockbox and direct deposit payments. Enters receivable payments and corresponding discounts to Accounts Receivable system. Performs periodic purge of paid invoices from computer system.

    • Responsible for daily reconciliation and reporting of bank balances to Corporate Treasury. Performs normal banking functions and related requirements such as letter of credit, wire transfers, etc.

    • Maintains and files all documents and reports related to disbursements and receipts on a timely basis, adhering to corporate records retention policy.

    • Reconciles designated bank accounts including corporate collecting and overdraft accounts.

    • Responsible for data entry input of all entries that are not uploaded to the GL. Maintains control log of all periodic transactions.

    • Prepares special governmental reporting and filings such as 1099’s, Fuel tax exemption and GET filings.

    • Serves as liaison between the company and vendors relating to status of transactions. Prepares standard accounting statements and reports on a periodic and annual basis, or as requested, including FALCON reporting package, federal and state reports, insurable values, equipment leases, physical inventories, reconciliation of inter-company charges, age of receivables and payables.

    • Performs duties of the position within the standards of the ethical conduct promulgated by the NAA (National Association of Accountants) including competence, confidentiality, integrity and objectivity.

    • Ensures the maintenance of safe and healthful working conditions for employees in accordance with company policies and programs and federal/state regulations. Enforces safety rules and regulations and participates in Dole safety programs to eliminate accidents.

    • Performs all the various related accounting and administrative duties as needed.

    • Performs special assignments as assigned.

    • Assist in special projects as required

     

    JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY, EXPERIENCE)

    REQUIRED Minimum five years accounting experience including auditing. Must possess excellent computer skills and knowledge of state-of–art computer hardware and software applications in business information processing.

    PREFERRED Ability to work as a team member. Possess excellent communication skills.
