The Donation Truck Driver supports the ReStore operation, the organization’s thrift stores that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials, with meeting company goals as well as top standards for safety, quality, and productivity. This position is responsible for donation pick up/drop off and loading/unloading of merchandise. Primary driving responsibilities will be shared among Drivers and will fluctuate based on need. This person serves as a front-line employee who regularly interacts directly with donors, clients and customers and represents Habitat for Humanity of Las Vegas in the community and works to ensure that they receive exceptional customer service and a positive experience.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to safely operate required vehicles.
1+ years previous driving experience with 26’ box truck or similar vehicle.
1+ years of moving furniture or similar items.
CDL preferred but not required.
Must be dependable, reliable, responsible, and detail oriented.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the general public, customers, and vendors in a positive and courteous manner.
Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Enthusiasm, team, and mission focused.
Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
Must have or be willing and able to obtain forklift certification.
Bilingual is a plus but not required.
Must have a philosophy of support in line with the values, mission of Habitat for Humanity.
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license, clean DMV record, and liability insurance.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Must be minimum 25 years of age.
Must wear required uniform and maintain personal appearance and hygiene by following the organization’s dress code requirements.
May be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends. Must be able to have flexible hours on days of Donation Events. If possible, schedule will be provided in advance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
This position is physically demanding requiring good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects of varying shapes, sizes, and weights repeatedly over long periods of time.
Must be able to continuously (67-100% of the workday) and repeatedly reach at, above, and below shoulder, stoop, kneel, balance, bend, twist body, turn body, walk, and stand, use fingering/fine dexterity, wrist motion, flex wrist, grasp/squeeze, handling/gross dexterity, feel, use hand-eye coordination, use foot-hand-eye coordination, hear, talk, climb stairs, use a ladder, lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 60 lbs.
Near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of peripheral vision is continuously (67-100% of the workday) required.
Continuously (67-100% of the workday) required environmental conditions: outdoors, dust, exposure to weather, extreme cold, extreme heat, loud noises, mist, moving mechanical parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, wet/humidity/rain.
