We’re looking to hire an energetic and outgoing host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills. You’ll need excellent communication skills to answer phone inquiries and make reservations. Your main duties include welcoming guests and guiding them to a table that has been cleared and cleaned. You’ll ensure that there are enough seats for the entire party and check that each guest has tableware. Your attire should be professional and neat, with comfortable shoes so you can stand on your feet frequently throughout your shift. Responsibilities: • Make reservations, plan out the seating chart, and troubleshoot customer phone inquiries • Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses • Monitor the dining room for tidiness, ensure all tables and chairs are organized, and that condiments are restocked when needed • Respond to questions about the menu and memorize the daily specials whenever needed • Assist with clearing plates off tables and getting tables ready for the next guests • Greet guests warmly as they enter to create a positive first impression of the hotel • Guide guests to their destinations as they enter to instill confidence in the guests and ensure the flow of guest traffic at the hotel stays fluid • Monitor the front entrance of the hotel to ensure it is clean, neat, and free of debris • Assist guests with directions, restaurant reservations, and other questions they may have about the local area Qualifications: • This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a good command of the English language • Skills needed for this role include excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor • Prior food services, or hospitality service industry experience is preferred but not required • Must be able to handle a fast-paced atmosphere with periods of standing on feet for an extended length of time Compensation: $14 - $16 hourly
