Los Angeles-area (Glendale, CA) personal injury and sexual assault law firm seeks a self-motivated team player to serve as full-time Intake Specialist. Responsibilities include screening calls/emails from potential clients, recording/assessing the details and facts related to the potential case, and helping to determine whether the case is ultimately accepted or declined (i.e. which cases qualify to proceed to the next phase where the client is then retained by the firm). Looking for someone with basic knowledge of various types of Personal Injury law cases (car accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, employment matters, sexual assaults, etc.). The candidate we’re seeking will be a fast learner who will undergo thorough training on our specific in-house intake system. Following training the candidate must then be able to apply that knowledge to the position and become adept at differentiating between the types of cases we accept versus the types of cases we decline or refer to outside firms. Much of the job involves working independently, either on the phone with potential clients or reading and evaluating emails with potential case descriptions. Candidate needs to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task — must be able to keep facts and details about different cases separated, identify one case from another, etc. Must be fluent and well-spoken in English AND Spanish. Also must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to succinctly yet adequately convey details related to multiple cases to various personnel (attorneys, paralegals, other intake specialists, victim advocates, etc.).
