    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Contract Review: Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and other project documents to accurately interpret the structural requirements and components for the project.

    Prepare Shop Drawings: Utilize design software to create detailed shop drawings, assembly drawings, ensuring accurate representations of steel components and connections.

    Material Takeoffs: Perform precise material takeoffs to determine the quantity and type of steel required for fabrication, considering factors such as weight, dimensions, and specifications.

    Collaboration to resolve discrepancies, conflicts, or modifications to design requirements during the detailing process.

    Compliance with Codes and Standards: Ensure that all shop drawings comply with relevant state highway codes, industry standards

    Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews and checks on completed drawings to maintain high-quality standards and accuracy before submission for approval.

    Coordination with In-house Fabricators: Collaborate closely with fabrication teams to communicate design specifications, provide clarifications, and address any on-site issues.

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Note this is a full time in person position.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum 3-4 years of experience in structural detailing.

    Proficient knowledge and understanding of SolidWorks and AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office

    Sound understanding of structural engineering principles, steel fabrication processes, welding techniques, and construction practices.

    Familiarity with AISC Code of Standard Practice and AWS.

    Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while handling complex design projects.

    Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

    Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues during the detailing process to maintain project progress.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    Expertise in structural steel detailing and familiarity with industry codes and practices.

    Proficiency in SolidWorks and related design software.

    Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members, fabricators, and other stakeholders.

    Excellent problem-solving abilities to resolve design conflicts and ensure project progression.

    Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

    Attention to detail and commitment to quality control standards.
