About the Position:

We are seeking a Draftsman with some working experience with Architecture to assist in the design and construction of commercial projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the project lead, contributing to a hands-on, streamlined approach to construction design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drafting, construction detailing, and practical buildability considerations.

Job Description:

Working under the supervision of the project lead, the Draftsman will be responsible for developing detailed plans and technical drawings based on set design standards. You will work closely with the project lead and owner to ensure accurate and functional construction plans are generated in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use design template/standards to create buildable architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp , or similar software.
• Work directly with the project lead to refine design concepts and translate them into working drawings.
• Ensure plans align with local building codes, permitting requirements, and structural standards.
• Modify and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, subcontractors, and site conditions.
• Provide construction detailing that optimizes material use, cost, and build efficiency.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure accurate implementation of design.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions, take measurements, and resolve on-site issues.
• Assist in preparing permit applications and required documentation.

Requirements:

• Strong technical drafting skills with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp (or similar tools).
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to anticipate construction challenges.
• Able to follow instructions and effectively complete assigned work in a timely manner.
