    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Dreamscape is seeking a UX/UI Designer to work on a new story-driven VR experience in the world of science and education.

    Dreamscape Immersive is creating a new form of immersive entertainment, combining the emotional power of Hollywood storytelling, the visceral excitement of your favorite theme-park rides, and an extraordinary mix of full body tracking and interactivity to create stories and worlds that push the limits of what is possible in virtual reality.

    Our unique technology allows you to physically step into state-of-the-art cinematic worlds, discovering stories, characters, and creatures never thought possible before. Each Dreamscape adventure is a shared experience, embracing the human desire to explore, learn, and play together.

    The candidate will work in Unity primarily and has a proven track record of video game content creation in a professional capacity with one or more shipped titles under their belt. Our ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, and collaborative. The UX/UI Artist/Designer will report to the Art Director.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Improve the look and feel of interactivity and visual clarity
    • Suggest and create game assets and points of interaction that engage and captivate users.
    • Execute all visual design stages from initial concept to final delivery to engineering.
    • Prototype interactive experiences as needed
    • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
    • Create overall concepts for the user experience to ensure efficacy of user understanding and educational effectiveness, where relevant.
    • Create wireframes of user flows, and other graphics to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
    • Regularly communicate technical, intuitive, and interactive constraints to other departments.
    • Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure visual style, user interaction, and narrative flow fit well within the project as a whole
    • Help troubleshoot graphical issues related to UX/UI asset production.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years working as a UX/UI artist/designs in a game engines (preferably Unity)
    • Expert understanding of adaptive, responsive, and fluid UI layout concepts Knowledge in UI Development best practices
    • Strong interaction design skills and a passion for visual design
    • Experience crafting high quality assets for Web, iOS, Android, AAA games, and or VR
    • Portfolio demonstrating relevant UX/UI skills.
    • Understand core principals and challenges of UX/UI from an artistic and technical perspective.
    • Working knowledge of common UX/UI technical architecture and patterns.
    • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, creative environment
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently
    • Professional written and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency with Photoshop, illustrator,  and preferably Unit

    NICE TO HAVE:

    • Experience developing for Virtual Reality
    • Comfortable building both with 2D and 3D UI elements
    • Experience with version control software such as Perforce, Plastic, SVN, Git, Bit Bucket
    • Familiarity or experience coding or integrating software in game engines, with visual scripting tools, or web development with HTML, CSS, C#,
    • Shipped 3- 5 products as a UX/UI Lead or equivalent
    • Proficiency with Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Maya
    • Experience with Project Management Tools such as Jira, Shotgun, Trello, etc.
    • Experience or interest in building educational content
