    Job Description

    This role will work on the client's Drug Substance development program. The successful candidate will work with a team of motivated scientists and engineers supporting pre-clinical stem cell differentiation experiments. These studies will span a variety of cell culture platforms at multiple scales, allowing the successful candidate to obtain hands-on experience with key bioprocessing technologies.

    Position responsibilities:

    • Assist the client Drug Substance Process Development (DS PD) team in preparing and aliquoting pre-made cell culture media
    • Provide occasional coverage for cell culture media manufacturing efforts
    • Perform routine bioreactor manipulations (e.g. sampling, cell counting, metabolite analysis, media exchange) during weekdays. Weekend rotating coverage is expected due to the nature of cell culture.
    • Document real-time bioreactor observations and sample measurements according to company procedures, work instructions, job aids, and SOPs
    • Support the client DS PD team in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked lab
    • Prepare single-use tubing assemblies to bridge between existing products and use-cases
    • Work with the health and safety of both yourself and your teammates in mind; comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and company EHS regulations
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • B.S. with 2 years of experience OR recent M.S. graduate in a scientific or engineering discipline that incorporates biology and chemistry curricula
    • Prior experience working in a BSL1+ “wet laboratory” environment
    • Prior experience with mammalian cell culture (or fermentation)
    • Prior experience with good aseptic technique

    Differentiating skills:

    • Experience working with stem cells in a BSL2+ laboratory
    • Extensive experience working within a biosafety cabinet
    • Familiarity with bioreactors, peristaltic pumps, and TPE tube welders

    Disclaimers/Notes:

    • This position will require regular work on weekends and outside business hours
    • Applicant should be able to safely lift to 50 lbs

    _ The position is a full-time, 1st shift role. Hours will be Mon-Fri from 8 am-5 pm with a weekend rotation.
