Production usually begins around 6:30 am until noon, typically 4-5 days a week. Expertise and knowledge of fashion trends and how finished garments should look is a plus. Pressers accurately but efficiently iron and press by machine or hand using steam and vacuum.
The clothes Presser is responsible for finishing laundered/Dry Cleaned garments in a timely manner, according to established quality standards.
Operate steam, air, electric pressing machines to remove wrinkles from garments and flatwork items, or to shape and form articles to company standards.
Understand the basics of garment construction.
Understand the Lot System of processing dry cleaning.
Understand how to properly sort colors.
Must be able to load, unload and operate commercial washing machines.
Be able to recognize common spots and stains.
