OVERVIEW
Duck Camp is seeking a talented Product Line Management Intern to join our product division. Serving at the intersection of product, manufacturing, marketing, and business, you will be supporting the needs of the cross-functional Duck Camp teams while learning and honing your own skills in product management. Your responsibility is to ensure that you are learning as much as possible and developing the skills necessary to excel in the outdoor products industry. You will report directly to the Product Line Manager but you will own your own term-long project while supporting the needs of the product team and other stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will need to be self-driven, be able to multitask in a fast startup environment, be adept at communication, and possess a deep desire to connect with people and products.
Duration: 10 Weeks - June 20, 2023 to September 1, 2023 (flexibility in dates available)
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the product team in the daily ongoings in the division – one day this could be developing merch maps for an upcoming line review, another day it could be evaluating the assortment plan and identifying gaps in the line or market. We won’t ever ask you to go get coffee for everyone.
- Gather and analyze data and future trends to initiate continual product improvement processes.
- Sample tracking and coordination.
- Cross-functional support to ensure that sales, marketing, and operations needs from the product team are met. This could include sales deck creation, marketing photoshoot support, supply chain analysis, etc.
- Support in gathering, sharing product information with stakeholders.
- Ask questions and be engaged in the product creation process!
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Desire to learn, ask questions, and work hard.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in product management, business management, product development, or similar programs.
- Basic understanding of the product life cycle and how it applies to business operations
- Possess the skills to conduct effective consumer and market research.
- Great knowledge of Office programs. Strong Excel skills are a plus.
- Intermediate understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are highly desired skills.
- High level of organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Organized, detail oriented and meet deadlines.
