    E Ink is seeking an engineer to join our team inventing and developing display driving methods for electrophoretic display systems. You will be primarily responsible for developing tools and systems to optimize drive scheme performance for novel display technology under development.  In addition, you will support new display product development through in-depth analyses of electro-optical performance and manufacturability.  Activities include designing and executing electro-optical experiments, developing algorithms for driving E Ink displays, performing optimization and in-depth analysis of display performance. As a key team member, you will be expected to take on challenging exploratory projects that lead to product improvement and new products in a culture of open review and critical discussion. E Ink maintains a lean team where each member has strong visibility and responsibility to meet company goals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop algorithms and software to optimize drive schemes for new color display technology
    • Design and execute electro-optical experiments to characterize display performance
    • Develop and document processes for incorporating algorithms into product production
    • Perform statistical analysis and build mathematical models to assess results
    • Investigate fundamental causes of technical challenges
    • Create and document intellectual property

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • B.S. degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or related signals & systems field plus three to five years of industrial experience, or M.S. degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or related signals & systems field plus zero to three years of industrial experience
    • Experience analyzing complex systems using mathematical methods, including data mining and system analysis for solving practical problems
    • Expertise in one or more of the following or related areas: optimization, signal processing, systems theory, statistical and mathematical modeling, system identification
    • Programming experience required: strong preference for proficiency with Matlab and familiarity with object oriented programming concepts
    • Experience with electronic devices and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators
    • Motivated, introspective, compelled to troubleshoot and improve, interested in working with actual devices
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
