Career Advisor / Case Manager
Established in 1981, El Centro de Ayuda (ECDA) mission is to promote family stability, academic and economic self-sufficiency through a continuum of services.
In partnership with Managed Care Solutions (MCS) and funded by the City of Los Angeles Economic & Workforce Development Department (EWDD) the Boyle Heights WorkSource Center provides job seekers with a host of employment and career development services such as career counseling, job listing, labor market info, training and wrap around services.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Program Management Team the Career Advisor / Case Manager is charged with developing business partners and unsubsidized employment opportunities for MCS sector initiatives and program participants, as well as working with the Leadership to identify new business opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Enroll and service a Minimum of 107 WIOA Adult Participants age 18 and older, that meet the following demographics: Low-income, Dislocated Workers, Veterans, Disabled, Homeless and Justice Involved adults.
• Assist participants with Cal Job Registration, provide Cal Job Career Search Services.
• Promote BHWSC Employment and Career Development Case Management services
• Development of unsubsidized employment opportunities for BHWSC enrolled participants
• Access labor market information & local employment opportunities
• Provide Unemployment enrollment assistance and linkage to State EDD
• Develop job training programs within Employers and School in coordination with the Operations Team
• Assists Operations Team to develop monthly reporting for Leadership Team
• Attend COD/WOO Business Services and BH WSC Team Meetings as required
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Team Player with strong personal mission to achieve excellence and develop positive outcomes
• Knowledge of WIA Business Services
• Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Must be able to complete network projects on a timely manner, with minimal supervision
• Effective problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from an accredited college and/or a minimum of 2 year’s Career Development, Case Management, Job Development Experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred but not required.
• Employment is subject to applicants’ successful completion of a LifeScan security clearance as required by the City of Los Angeles, Federal Government and State of California.
• TB clearance, to be renewed every two years
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid California Driver License and State required automobile insurance coverage
STARTING MONTH SALARY: $3,350 Full-time 40 hours a week
ANNUAL SALARY: $40,200
BENEFITS: Includes health, dental, vacation, sick days and holidays
