Butterfly Staffing is actively seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT) with experience in land development projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects ranging from site development to infrastructure improvements across the Hampton Roads region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support multi-disciplinary teams in the design and development of a range of land development projects.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project reports from initial concept through construction.
- Coordinate permitting efforts with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies for complex, large-scale projects.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including stormwater management compliance for water quantity and quality.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and project goals.
- Perform field inspections as necessary to support project needs.
- Assist in developing proposals for new and existing clients, including estimating project fees.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional engineering experience, preferably focused on land development projects.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the land development process specific to the Hampton Roads region.
- Knowledge of key site design functions including site layout, grading, utility planning, stormwater management, erosion control, and municipal approvals.
- Experience in hydrology and hydraulic modeling and stormwater management design.
- Proficiency with design software, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to providing project solutions.
