    Acculturation for Justice, Access and Peace Outreach (AJAPO) is a Refugee Resettlement serving refugees and immigrants from all over the globe in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

    Established in 2002, AJAPO serves to improve the lives of refugees and immigrants through its programming and supports them to thrive and become independent and self sufficient in many aspects of their lives.

    AJAPO is seeking to employ an Employment Case Manager to assist our consumers with employment services as they work towards their economic and social self sufficiency in the United States. The candidate will support diversity and be ready to collaborate with other staff at AJAPO as a team to serve consumers.

    Case Manager will work with individuals and families to achieve economic self-sufficiency through employment. The duties of the Case Manager will include intake, developing service plans, employment conversations with consumers, training on public transportation ride, escort to job interviews and building relationships with employers.

    The successful candidate should have current authorization to work in the United States.

    COVID-19 vaccination and boosters are required for our employees.

    The Employment Case Manager will report to the Employment Coordinator.

    The Employment Case Manager will provide services to refugees, asylees, SIVs and other eligible consumers as follows:

    Main Responsibilities :

    Provides intake to employable adult consumers 18 years and older ( Some young adults may be in school up to age 20)

    Provides service plans for individuals and families to map out their visions and goals for self- sufficiency, community integration and family cohesion.

    Together with consumers, converse to develop short resumes

    Assist consumers with job search and completion of job applications

    Provides job- re4adiness counselling

    Provides budgeting training

    Provides public transportation orientation to consumers.

    Assists both consumers and employers with on-boarding services

    Tracks employment performance using in-house tracker

    Documents all consumers activities via specified case notes

    Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual reports on employment services.

    Attends internal and external meetings.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in humanities, Social Work or related field preferred

    Previous relevant work experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with refugee, immigrant or diverse communities

    Solid understanding of issues pertinent to refugees and immigrants

    Ability to cultivate excellent relationships with consumers, staff, and partners

    Ability for tasks management: meeting deadlines and time scheduling for various assignments.

    Digital literacy is a must ( at minimum, knowledge of word, excel, power point, publisher and PDF) and ability to learn new software

    Flexibility to work after hours and few weekends when needed.

    While language ability is not needed for the position, it will be a plus, if candidate speaks any of the preferred languages such as Amharic, Arabic, Dari, French, Haitian Kreyol, Pashto, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Swahili,

    COVID-19 vaccination and boosters are required for AJAPO employees.

    Requirements:

    Hours of work are in-person from 9am - 5p.m. Monday to Friday. Occasionally depending on clients’ needs, staff work after hours and at weekends.

    Act 33/34 Child Abuse History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance are required.

    Initial Training on the job as well as some external training such as Mandatory Reporter are also required.

    Personal vehicle with valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance

    Successful candidate should have current authorization to work in the United States.

    Compensation:

    The pay rate for this position is $21.50/hour (37.5 hours a week)

    Benefit package include 100% staff health, vision and dental insurance with a cap of $300/month reimbursable.

    IRA of 3% of pay- staff needs to enroll to benefit.
